Umberto Boccioni

Born in 1882, Boccioni was also one of the leading futuristic artists as his work is often used to represent it best. He concentrated on causing controversy, following his fellow futurist Balla. He focused on speed, dynamics and the darker things in life at the time. He concentrated on pollution for a period, which wasn't exactly uplifting for the general population. He focused on it because it represented change, and the modern era at the time. again, likewise to Balla, his work verged closer to abstraction as futurism became mysterious and less clear.

He also Delved into sculpturing where he also carried the idea of futurism. He wanted to show movement, time, space, speed but in a sculpture. He managed to achieve this when he created Unique forms of continuity in space in 1913.
Boccioni's main aim was to depict aspects of life at the time. Modern machinery as well as technology, new inventions etc. He is one of the most remembered futuristic artists due to his unique style and outrages pieces.
